The 40Million Question

Someone asked me a 40 Million Question.
I wondered why we are facinated with the sum $40. Million nonetheless. . .

Qns: "What will you do if you have SIN$40,000,000??"

Me: "Very carefully, if there is tax at 20%, I'll be left with $32,000,000"...

1. Buy a landed property at ORCHARD area (District 9), properly furnished with pool table and walk-in closet - $12M (Left - $20,000,000)
2. Buy a fully paid Jaguar with 10 yrs of road tax, insurance, maintenance n petrol (annual inflation rate of 7.5%) put aside - $500,000 (Left - $19,500,000)
3. Send my parents packing for holiday in desirable places - namely Europe for 2 weeks - every year for 20yrs or till they're too old (annually inflation at 7.5%) - $1M (Left $18,500,000)
4. Buy Designer bags/watches for my siblings and all my faviourite people (only one-off for non-relative, I cannot be a sucker right??) - $1M (Left $17,500,000)
5. Treat myself to month facials, massages, manicures&pedicures, month splurges on non-sensial products and latest perfume, fine dining eternally - $1.5M (Left $16,000,000)
6. Appoint my cousin as my financial consultant to build my investment and retirement Funds - $10M (Left $6,000,000)
7. Yearly holiday to faraway destination, either alone or with company until the age of 50 - $1.5M (Left $4,500,000)
8. Put aside child's/children's educational funds. (If i ever have any) - $1M ($3,500,000)
9. Stop working for 2 years to take up a dress making course, violin lessons full-time and Spanish languages. (Forget about opportuniy cost, if I have millions, who cared for peanuts??) - $50,000 (Left - $3,450,000)
10. Start my own label either on consignment or shopfront, incorporating staticitcs of 3.5 times failure of entreprenurialship in Singapore, - $1,450,000 (Left $2,000,000)

I looked at my bank statement today, and my 2005 annual income comes up to $20,000. ONLY.

Irony how life seems to feed on your dreams while you are awake?? It suppose to keep you moving forward, getting all you that you have ever dreamt about. So to speak.. "Hope is the dream of a soul awake." But alot of people (including myself) stopped in the tracks of mere day-dreaming. People will wish for extravence, of love and of laughter, instead of really doing something.

I am the type that believes in "If you are born to be rich, you will be rich, If you are not, you will never be no matter how hard you try." I guess I still believe this to a certain extend... Well, that's about all for my $4 Billion cents worth of thoughts. (Which is $4,000,000,000 - ). Hey! I don't belittle myself alright !!!
